Yaniv Dover has finished his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Theoretical Solid State Physics and has done Research in Astrophysics and Non-linear Dynamics. During his PhD he was interested in applying the methods and thinking he has aqcuired during his years as a Physicist to Research Problems in the Social Sciences and was totally sucked into the field.
Under the supervision of Prof. Jacob Goldenberg (Business Admin.) and Prof. Sorin Solomon (Theoretical Physics) and collaborating with Dr. Daniel Shapira, Yaniv is now investigating problems of the Diffusion of innovations over networks. Specifically, Yaniv, along with Prof. Goldenberg and Dr. Shapira has developed a method that, assuming a dissemination process has spread over a network, out of a single dissemination pattern (e.g. temporal sales) the degree distribution of the underlying network can be reconstructed along with the parameters of the infection process (internal and external).
Also, Yaniv has been working on a project that may enable the uncovering of important surprsing secretive events, before they actually occur, but that is a secret for now...
