A View of the Living Room

The house is lined up in East-West direction, whereby the Living is located in the East (with Balcony). The Master Bedroom is in the West (with Balcony).

The original part of the house, preserved, dates from 1890, whereas the restored part is from 1978 when we finished building it.

Our groundplan measures 5.20 meters wide by 22.63 meters.

The house counts two floors at the west, whereas three floors at the east side, since it is build on a natural slope. An additional Loft is situated above the third floor.

The house has eight rooms, a large Kitchen on the upper floor and two kitchinettes, a garden, a Podium with possibilities for additional building, a bath and two showers, four WCs, a storage place, a cellar and, finally, two balconies (looking out on the West and East).

At present, the entire house is divided into three units which are all independent from one another, i.e. each unit has its own Entrance, separated Water, Electricity, Telephone, TV and Gas supply. Each Unit has, furthermore its own Kitchen and Bathroom. The third floor has two bathrooms.

The house is built in stone with a backing of concrete. Not a skeleton of concrete to which stones were added, but stone and concrete were casted in a single time, row by row.

The stone used is the famous buff "Jerusalem Stone" which, in our case, came from a quarry between Bethlehem and Hebron.

The windows, as well as all the doors and shutters upstairs are made of wood. The downstair doors and shutters are made of metal sheet

Most of the windows are protected by iron bars of 16 mm. diameter according to the ancient design of Yemin Moshe (all bars were taken from the ancient building which existed before we started to build).

One outdoor staircase leads to the second floor. An indoor staircase leads to the third floor and another to the Loft

A stone staircase leads down from the Parking lot right through the garden into the lower Living Room which has a domed ceiling and has been preserved from a hundred years ago

The upper floor has a surface of around 122 square meters. The dowstairs Unit is 40 square meters, whereas the other dowsnstair Unit is 57 square meters. The two balconies are together 9 square meters. Therefore, the total existing gross surface measures 228 square meters. Add to this the garden which is 26 square meters, so that the total is 254 square meters, or 2,734 square feet.

There is place for an additional 48 square meters of building at the inside of the House and an additional 16 square meters outside the house in the garden.

This all adds up to a total gross space of 292 square meters (3,143 square feet).
