"Looking for the Biological Roots of Music" Musical cultures differ in almost every aspect: In intervals, scales types, syntax, vocal and instrumental timbres and textures and even in how the phenomenon of music itself is defined. Amidst this wealth, music cognition researchers try to define how these cultural aspects may be constrained by cognitive, physiological and biological universal aspects. A summary and interim findings.
