Students of the program also have access to the rich collections of Ladino books, periodicals, manuscripts and recordings housed in the Jewish National and University Library, Giv’at Ram Campus, as well as those of the Library of the Ben-Zvi Institute, in the Rehavia section of Jerusalem.

Title-page of the first edition of Rabbi Ya‘aqov Khuli’s anthology of biblical exegesis, ספר מעם לועז ... אין לאדינו ... ספר בראשית [Séfer meam loéz … en ladino … séfer berešiθ], published in Constantinople in 1730. This volume, devoted to Genesis, was the first in a pioneering and highly popular series of Ladino Bible commentaries, editions of which were published in several major Ladino speech communities into the 20th century. Portions of the series have also appeared in Judeo-Arabic, Hebrew, English and French translation, as well as in Romanization. (Reproduction courtesy of the Library of the Ben-Zvi Institute.)
