I was born in Haifa, a city that feels like home to this day. Snuggled between mountain and sea, it is where I met the most important people in my life.

Academics brought me to Tel Aviv. I graduated from the Adi Lautman Interdisciplinary Program for Outstanding Students, completed a double major BSc in computer science and linguistics and an MA in linguistics. I was ready to face the world!, the real world of bugs, executables, and corporate luncheons.

After more than two exciting years of research and development on the Natural Language Processing team at ClearForest Corp, I learned that what the world really needs is more linguists.

I entered the PhD program in linguistics at UMass Amherst in 2005, moved to D.C. in 2011 for a wonderful postdoc at Georgetown, and in 2013 made my way back, almost full circle, to Israel. After three exciting years as a Mandel Postdoctoral Fellow at the Hebrew University, I joined the university as a faculty member in 2016.
