Advisor: Louis Guttman Motivated by baffling methodological issues in social & psychological measurement theory, the thesis lays the algebraic foundations for Multiple Scaling by partial order scalogram analysis, and mathematically relates the partial order dimensionality of the measurement space (based on rows of the data matrix) to the smallest space dimensionality of the measured concept space (based on columns of the data matrix). |
